About The Job
This job is a member of the Information Technology Team, within the Information Technology Division. This position is responsible for the oversight and management of one or more teams supporting Flight Attendant (FA) business units and the APFA Labor agreement. These teams consist of application developers, business analysts and project managers.
Specifically, you’ll do the following:
Collaborates with Business and IT leadership to determine and communicate systems vision, direction, and work priorities, and drives progress towards technology target roadmaps
Ensures that sound agile project management, business analysis, and quality assurance processes are in place and practiced
Removes roadblocks, cultivates relationships, and effectively communicates across Enterprise at various levels of leadership
Manage and track project/program schedules and budgets with controller(s), as appropriate
Manages and leads adoption and migration of new and emerging technologies
Provides leadership over a variety of heterogeneous technologies from J2EE, .Net and open source technologies
Develops and mentors a team of highly skilled technologists (project managers, business analysts, quality assurance, and developers)
Delegates responsibilities effectively across multiple development swim lanes
Leads, influences, and enforces technology standards
Maintains an effective approach on problem solving, multi-tasking, coordinating and scheduling in accordance with stated goals to ensure visibility and predictability
Manages production issues and off-hours support, communication, and coordination
Works extended hours occasionally, based on the needs of the project and the operation
Travels, as required
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Technology, Information Systems (CIS/MIS), Engineering or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience/training
10 years of information technology experience
7 years of experience overseeing large technology projects from inception to implementation in an enterprise environment
5 years of experience delivering solutions using ITIL / Agile / XP, or similar methodologies
Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Technology, Information Systems (CIS/MIS), Engineering or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience/training
Airline industry experience, including business process and supporting technology
Experience in managing, supporting, and delivering ‘mission-critical’ projects/migrations
Experience working with Agile project management methodologies and tools
Experience in DevOps Toolchain methodologies, including Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment
Proven ability to handle multiple projects/work streams and demands efficiently

Experience in leading a team of individuals with various levels of skills and experience in potentially high stress and challenging situations
Demonstrated initiative, flexibility and ability to adapt to changing priorities and work environments
Ability to thrive in a sense-of-urgency environment and leverage best practices
Working knowledge and experience in technology environment (desktop computing, hardware and operating systems, networks, telecommunications etc.)
Experience providing requirements, review, approvals for contracts, and statements of work to vendor partners, internal vendor management groups, and legal
Experience managing financial budgets
Broad familiarity with airline/crew operations, practices, and crew management systems
Ability to explain technical concepts and adjust messaging based on the audience, including non-technical groups
Ability to influence through outstanding interpersonal skills, collaboration, and negotiation skills
Ability to work well within a team environment, as well as independently
